To some feng shui is simply a fashion
in interior design – a must to have a money corner, an absolute ‘no no’ to have
a mirror in the bedroom. However, to Andy Thrasyvoulou, the CEO & Founder of myhotels
group, feng shui is a way of life that he has been practising, under the
guidance of world expert William Spear, for many years. Indeed it is this that
has inspired Andy’s vision of myhotel Bloomsbury, and then later myhotel
Chelsea and myhotel Brighton, to provide an environment where Eastern and
Western cultures cross.
Practised in the East for thousand of years, real feng
shui is the study of the movement of energy and how it affects every aspect of
our lives. The aim of well-practised feng shui is to arrange a space so that
‘chi’, or energy, can flow harmoniously to create balance. Smooth and soft
energy movement creates a feeling of relaxation whereas straight lines, angular
corners and sharp edges can make us feel more stressed.
In addition to this element of
feng shui, an enormous amount of time has been taken at myhotels to ensure that
both the team working on the development of the hotel group and the team who operate the hotel have complementary qualities, professionalism,
commitment and an understanding and respect for the vision.
In essence the feng shui of
myhotels is felt through the philosophy, culture and relationships of
people within a consciously designed space, therefore giving rise to an
experience which is unique, individual and very much alive!
Each of our boutique luxury hotels in Central London and our hotel in Brighton delicately balance award-winning design with a distinctive local flavour. Add the warmth and dedication of myhotels openhearted team and the result is a harmonious synergy between people and place. That’s why we’ve become known as the ‘feng shui’ hotel group.
